WordPress Integration
waveConnect links your WordPress site to waveMail. Contacts are added to your lists automatically when visitors submit a form, register an account, log in, publish a post, or comment.
What You'll Need
- A WordPress site running version 5.6 or later (PHP 7.4+).
- An active waveMail account at app.wavemail.com.au.
- WooCommerce installed and active (only if you want order-based triggers — see WooCommerce).
- Administrator access to your WordPress dashboard.
Step 1 — Install the Plugin
- Download wavemail-connect.zip from the connector's download button in your waveMail Integrations area.
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the downloaded wavemail-connect.zip file and click Install Now.
- Click Activate once the upload finishes.
A new waveConnect menu will appear in your WordPress admin sidebar.
Step 2 — Connect Your waveMail Account
- Go to waveConnect → Setup Account.
- Click Add Account. A secure waveMail authorisation window will open.
- Log in to your waveMail account and approve the connection. The window closes automatically and returns you to WordPress.
- Your account now shows a Connected status. You can connect more than one waveMail account if needed.
The connection is authorised through waveMail directly — you never need to copy or paste API keys by hand. waveConnect re-checks the connection automatically and alerts your site administrator if it ever needs re-authorising.
Step 3 — Create Your First Integration
- Go to waveConnect → Add New.
- Choose a trigger — the event that should add a contact:
- WordPress: user registration, profile update, login, post published, or new comment.
- Forms: WPForms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Elementor Pro, Ninja Forms, Fluent Forms, Formidable, and Forminator.
- WooCommerce order triggers are also available — see the WooCommerce guide.
- Select the waveMail list the contact should be subscribed to.
- Map the fields — match the trigger's data (name, email, phone, form fields, etc.) to your waveMail list fields. Use the available tags for extras like submission date, user IP, and site info.
- Optionally add conditional logic so the integration only runs when your conditions are met.
- Click Save. The integration is now live.
Step 4 — Test It
- Trigger the event you configured — for example, submit the form.
- Check the matching list in your waveMail account to confirm the new subscriber appears.
- If something doesn't arrive, open waveConnect → Debug to view the API log. You can inspect each request and resend any that failed.
Optional — Sync Existing Users
To add contacts you already have, go to waveConnect → Sync Users. You can bulk-sync existing WordPress and WooCommerce users to a waveMail list, filtered by role and by date range (last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, 1 year, or all time). The sync runs in the background with a live progress indicator.
Tips: Use waveConnect → Import / Export to back up or migrate your integrations; connect several waveMail accounts to route different triggers to different lists; and find help under waveConnect → Get Help inside the plugin.
