Organise your campaigns into Campaign Groups that make sense to you — by client, brand, product, project, or season. Once a campaign belongs to a group, you can filter and manage your campaigns by that group, which keeps a busy account tidy as your sending grows.
Open Campaigns → Groups and create a group with a clear name.
When you create or edit a campaign, assign it to the group.
Filter your campaigns list by group at any time to find related sends quickly.
Sending Groups
A Sending Group lets you send related campaigns to several lists or segments without emailing the same person twice — even when those lists overlap.
Add multiple campaigns to one Sending Group, each targeting a different list and/or segment. As waveMail sends, it checks every recipient against the other campaigns in the same group: if that address has already received another campaign in the group, it's skipped; if not, the campaign is sent. This gives you broad reach across overlapping audiences at minimal performance cost — and avoids the heavy, slow approach of merging lists together just to de-duplicate.
Why Use One
No duplicate sends — subscribers on more than one targeted list receive the campaign only once.
Per-copy customisation — tweak each campaign in the group (subject, content, sender) to test which version inboxes best.
Add any time — you can add a campaign to a Sending Group later, even weeks or months after the first send.
Creating a Sending Group
Open Campaigns → Send groups and create a Sending Group.
When you set up a campaign, assign it to the Sending Group and choose its target list or segment.
Repeat for each list/segment you want to reach, assigning every campaign to the same group.
Use it only when you need it. Sending Groups are powerful for reaching overlapping audiences cleanly, but for a single list a normal campaign is simpler. Reach for a Sending Group when subscribers genuinely span multiple lists or segments.
Best Practices
Always send a test email first — review it in your own inbox before sending to your list
Send at optimal times — Tuesday through Thursday mornings tend to perform best, but test with your audience
Segment your audience — targeted campaigns consistently outperform mass blasts
Keep your lists clean — verify emails and remove inactive subscribers regularly
Monitor your results — review campaign reports after every send and iterate
Be consistent — set a sending schedule and stick to it so subscribers know what to expect
Example: sending your first newsletter
Start the campaign. Go to Campaigns → Create new, choose a Regular campaign, and give it an internal name like “June Newsletter”.
Pick the audience. Select your Monthly Newsletter list — or a segment of it, such as “opened in the last 90 days”.
Set the subject. Write a clear subject and a from-name your readers recognise, and add a pre-header to lift opens.
Design the email. Pick a template, drop in your content blocks, and personalise the greeting with the First name field.
Test, then schedule. Send yourself a test, fix anything, then send now or schedule it for the best time.
Review results. Once it's out, open Campaign Reporting to see opens, clicks, and more.
