API Keys
Security: When you remove or disconnect an integration, delete its API key here in API Keys as well. A leftover key can still be used to access your account — revoking it closes that door.
Create and manage the keys that let other applications connect to your waveMail account.
Where to find it: Open API Keys from the main menu.
When You Need an API Key
An API key authenticates requests to the waveMail API. You'll need one to connect a website plugin, a custom integration, or any tool that adds subscribers or pulls reporting data automatically.
Creating a Key
- Open API Keys and create a new key.
- Copy the key and store it securely in the application you're connecting.
- Generate separate keys for separate integrations so you can revoke one without affecting the others.

Security: Treat API keys like passwords. Never paste them into public code, emails, or screenshots. If a key is exposed, delete it and create a new one.
Using the API
The API lets you manage subscribers, lists, campaigns, and reporting programmatically. For endpoints, parameters, and examples, see the full API Reference.
POST /api/lists/{list_uid}/subscribers
Authorization: your-api-key
{ "EMAIL": "[email protected]", "FNAME": "Alex" }
