Cookie Policy

Effective date: 4 July 2026 · Version 1.0

This policy explains how Techwave Pty Ltd ("Techwave", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the waveMail website (wavemail.com.au). It complements — and should be read alongside — our Privacy Policy.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking Cookie settings here, or via the same link in the footer of any page.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's operators. Similar technologies — including local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — can be used for the same purposes, and where we refer to "cookies" in this policy we include those technologies as well.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party — set by the website you are visiting (in this case, waveMail).
  • Third-party — set by another service used by the website, such as an analytics or advertising provider.
  • Session — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent — remain on your device for a defined period, or until you delete them.

2. The categories we use

We organise the cookies and similar technologies we use into four categories. You can accept or reject each category (except "Strictly necessary", which is required for the site to function) via the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or at any time via Cookie settings.

Strictly necessary

These cookies are essential for the site to work. They handle things like submitting a form, remembering your cookie choices, and protecting our forms from automated abuse. Without them, the site cannot operate as intended, so they cannot be disabled. They do not track you across other sites.

Examples currently in use:

  • wm_consent — a first-party cookie that records your cookie choices. Persistent, expires 12 months after it is last updated.
  • Cloudflare — our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may set cookies (such as under the challenges.cloudflare.com domain) for security and bot protection, including on our contact and subscription forms. These are required to keep the site secure. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for details.

Functional

These cookies remember preferences and choices you've made so the site behaves consistently across visits — for example, remembering form fields you've previously filled in, or which version of a panel you had open. They are not used to track you across other websites.

We are not currently using cookies in this category. If we add any in the future, they will be listed here.

Analytics

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, how people arrive, and where they get stuck — so we can improve the content and the user experience. The information is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you individually.

We currently use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool that does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across sites. Because it sets no cookies and collects no personal information, it operates independently of this consent mechanism. If we add cookie-based analytics in the future (for example, Google Analytics 4), they will only be loaded if you have given consent for this category, and they will be listed here.

Marketing

These cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show you more relevant content on other websites — for example, to retarget visitors who have previously shown interest in a product or service. They are usually set by third-party advertising networks.

We are not currently using cookies in this category. When we add marketing technologies (for example, the LinkedIn Insight Tag or Meta Pixel), they will only be loaded if you have given consent for this category, and they will be listed here.

3. Our legal basis

For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure website. For all other categories — functional, analytics, and marketing — we rely on your consent, which you give by interacting with the cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via Cookie settings; withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.

If you are visiting from outside Australia — including from the European Union or United Kingdom — the same approach applies: you will see the cookie banner on your first visit, and no non-essential cookies will be set until you have accepted them.

4. Managing your preferences

You can manage your cookie preferences in three ways:

  • Cookie settings on waveMail — click Cookie settings here (or in the footer of any page) to open the preferences panel. You can accept all, reject all, or toggle individual categories.
  • Your browser settings — most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies for any site. The methods vary; see your browser's help documentation. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
  • Privacy-focused tools — extensions like uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, or the built-in protections in Brave, Firefox, and Safari, can block tracking cookies and similar technologies automatically.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) or "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signal to indicate the user does not want to be tracked. Our cookie consent mechanism is the canonical place we record your preferences, so we don't currently treat DNT or GPC as separate signals. We may revisit this as the standards mature.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use, changes in the law, or improvements to our consent tooling. When we make a material change, we will update the "Version" and "Effective" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
